Scavenger Hunt of Mt. Monadnock
A year ago, my 8th grade team went on a hike up Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire. I wrote this post and never published it! There was a scavenger hunt that our teachers made. My group found all but ONE! Here is the list and the pictures that me and my group took:
- You at the ranger hut or at the trail sign.
- Find the crossroads for White Cross and White Dot trails.
- Fall foliage!
- Evidence of glacial scarring
- A cairn above the tree line.
- An animal.
- Water.
- An 8 Gold teacher at the summit (This is the one we didn't get. We were late to the summit and we did not stay with the teachers for long)
- At the summit… the USGS survey marker
- At the summit, find a carving from around the time of the Civil War
- Lunchtime at the summit
- Boston, from the summit
- Silly shot at the summit - be creative!
- Some ice
- You or a teammate hugging a tree.
- A flowering plant. (We got this but could not get the pictures to download)
- A sugar maple tree
- Your crew… at the bottom, after the hike is over. (We also got this but didn't get the pictures)
